Forms and Fees
Although I understand that there are many reasons why people often decide to use their insurance, at this time I do not choose to be an in-network provider for any insurance plans.
Payment is due at the end of each session and you may pay by cash, personal check, or by credit card (Visa/MasterCard).
Should you wish to utilize your insurance benefits, I will be more than happy to provide documentation to facilitate this process. It will help you to check with your insurance company prior to our first meeting to understand your benefits. You will want to ask your insurance company about:
Coverage for “outpatient psychotherapy services”
The percentage of reimbursement for an “out of network provider” including anydeductible amount.
A number of factors led me to believe that not directly billing insurance may allow for a more positive therapeutic relationship in addition to improved clinical services. Being "out-of-network":
enhances client privacy
promotes a focus on health and strength rather than an excess focus on pathology
insurance companies often require the clinician to document that treatment is "medically necessary" in order to justify payment for service enhances client choice and power
reduces potential future problems that could impede the use of other benefits (e.g., acquiring life insurance after an episode of depression that has been resolved)

I am happy to offer a 15-minute phone consultation to answer any
questions you may have.
