Richard P. Fleitas, Psy.D.

| I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the
District of Columbia and Virginia. I received a Bachelor's
Degree in Organizational Communication from Fairfield University in Connecticut. I later earned a
Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston College and a
doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the American School of
Professional Psychology at Argosy University, DC Campus. |
Following an APA accredited internship
at St. Elizabeths Hospital, I began working in the DC Public School
System conducting psychological assessments on children and adolescents. In an effort
to improve the quality of mental health services received by district
students, a colleague and I started a DC company in 2006 called Psychological Assessment Solutions, LLC.
In 2009, after repeatedly noticing a need for early identification and evaluation for children of teen mothers in the district, I co-founded Supporting Parents & At Risk Kids (SPARK). SPARK is a nonprofit organization that works with an often-overlooked population in need.
I have a wealth of experience working with a variety of populations and clinical issues. I have worked in a military setting, an inpatient hospital, a college counseling center, and in a number of community mental health care clinics. In my Arlington and DC practice I conduct psychotherapy with adolescents and adults. In addition, I provide cognitive,
achievement, personality, and ADHD assessment with
children, adolescents, and adults.
